SWITCHBOARD OPERATOR JOB
DESCRIPTION
SUMMARY: Operates switchboard to
relay incoming, outgoing, and interoffice calls by performing the following duties.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Pushes switch keys on switchboard to make connections and relay
calls.
2. Supplies information to callers and
records messages.
3. Keeps record of calls placed
and toll charges.
4. Performs clerical duties such
as typing, proofreading, and sorting mail.
5.
Receives visitors, obtains name and nature of business, and directs to area.
6. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education
degree (GED); or One to three months related experience and/or training; or Equivalent combination
