Purpose Statement
To prepare the next generation of pharmacy clinicians to provide evidence-based education to pharmacy students and other healthcare professionals by attaining a position in a PGY2 Specialty Residency Program, as a Faculty Member of a School of Pharmacy, or by attaining a position as a Pharmacy Practice Clinician in a health-care system setting.

Residency Overview
The LECOM School of Pharmacy and Millcreek Community Hospital (MCH) Pharmacy Practice Residency is a twelve-month program established to meet the goals of general practitioners according to American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists (ASHP) standards. The residency provides a substantial teaching component as well as the opportunity to work with health care professionals in an interdisciplinary environment. A large focus of the residency program is spent in academia and teaching because of the association with a School of Pharmacy, College of Medicine and with a Community/Teaching Hospital.

Core rotations consist of 4-6 week concentrated experiences in the following areas:
1. Orientation/staffing
2. Internal medicine
3. Advanced internal medicine
4. Inpatient geriatrics
5. Long term care & transitional care
6. Drug information - longitudinal
7. Midyear/management
8. Behavioral health
9. LECOM Institute for Successful Aging

Longitudinal rotations consist of learning experiences that allow the resident to learn and develop skills throughout the residency year. We offer longitudinal rotations in:
1. Staffing(required)
2. Teaching(required; teaching certificate is available and optional)
3. Drug information(required)
4. Resident research project(required)
5. Ambulatory care

Elective rotations consist of 2-6 week concentrated experience in the following areas:
1. Cardiology/Internal Medicine
2. Pulmonology/Internal Medicine
3. Emergency Medicine
4. Pharmacy administration
5. Internal Medicine; critical care focus
6. Internal Medicine; infectious disease focus
7. Any core rotation
