Nursing Services
We provide personalized care
From the moment you select Millcreek Manor, our medical team becomes acquainted and involved in
the care of your loved one. Our staff and medical director work closely with the chosen attending
physician to design an individualize care plan that is best suited to meet the needs of your loved
one. We encourage all of our residents, families, and friends to become active participants in the
care planning process. Our nursing programs include services such as: intravenous therapy,
hydration therapy, post-operative care, wound care management, pain management, hospice care, and
comprehensive restorative nursing care.
- Skilled Nursing care offers a level of
care that must be supervised by a registered nurse. Examples of skilled nursing care include:
intravenous injections, tube feeding, and changing sterile dressings on wounds. This care requires
a coordinated effort between nursing, rehabilitation, dietary, and activities departments to
maintain the highest level of independence for each resident.
- General
nursing care is designed for residents who require assistance with activities of daily living and
nursing supervision. Care is ordered by the attending physician and supervised by a registered or
licensed practical nurse. Certified nursing assistants then provide individual assistance for
residents with their activities of daily living.
At Millcreek Manor, a registered
nurse coordinates a comprehensive assessment for every resident, which involves evaluation and
input by the physician, nurses, dietician, rehabilitation therapist, social worker, and activity
staff. This comprehensive assessment is used to develop and implement an individualized plan of
care for each resident. Plans of care are reviewed and updated by the interdisciplinary team on a
regular basis and residents and their families are invited to attend and participate in meetings to
review the plans of care.
