Millcreek Community Hospital Receives Full Accreditation
Millcreek Community Hospital has received a three-year accreditation from the American
Osteopathic Association (AOA) Bureau of Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program (HFAP). Three
years is the maximum granted.
HFAP is a non-profit, nationally recognized organization that has been been reviewing health
care facilities on national standards for patient safety, quality improvement, and environmental
safety for more than 60 years.
Millcreek Community Hospital met or exceeded standards in every case, said Michael Zarski,
CEO of HFAP.
We re very proud to achieve this prestigious distinction, said Mary L. Eckert, hospital
president and CEO. We ve grown quickly in the past several years as the region s largest
teaching hospital, with unique behavioral health and senior care units in addition to our
comprehensive inpatient care, outpatient diagnostics and 24-hour emergency services. So this full
accreditation is a reflection that we re growing with patient safety and quality of care foremost
in mind.
