Staff Announcements
Two psychiatrists have joined Millcreek Community Hospital's (MCH) Behavioral Health Care
department, the region’s largest inpatient mental health care facility with separate units
for adolescents, adults and seniors.

Richard E. Herrick, D.O. (pictured left), has returned to Millcreek Community
Hospital as a full-time staff psychiatrist after working recently at MCH and then Saint Vincent
Health Center. Prior to that, he was a staff psychiatrist at High Point Regional Hospital in
High Point, NC. A graduate of Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM), Dr. Herrick
completed his postdoctoral residency in psychiatry at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in
addition to Family Medicine and Psychiatry internships at the Medical College of Wisconsin and the
University of Kentucky College of Medicine respectively.
Mark D. Strazisar, D.O. (right), joined the hospital as a staff psychiatrist
following completion of a three-year, Psychiatric Residency program and a traditional, rotating
internship at MCH. An Erie native, he earned a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from
LECOM and a B.S. degree in Biology from Gannon University. Dr. Strazisar recently completed
additional training in Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT).
